It was a difficult week here at Blazing Trails Farm with the unexpected passing of Brutus, my six month old Mille Fleur Serama cockerel. He had a special place in my heart I am thankful for the time I had to appreciate his beauty, confidence and spunk while he was here. He was a joy to photograph and I have chosen to celebrate his life by continuing to share his larger-than-life personality through them. RIP little buddy.
This is how Brutus would have wanted to be remembered. ☺ I know Brutus would have been thrilled to know that his necropsy report noted his “well developed testicles.” Atta boy, Brutus.

Thank you Carolle. ♥
Thanks, Christine. (give your husband a whack on the back of the head from me too. ;) )
Hi Ariel, welcome to chicken-keeping! Thank you for joining me here!
Hi Kathy! I am completely new to the chicken raising! Me & my husband just finished our chicken coop and bought two 3 week old Frizzle chicks along with 4 Silkie eggs that I am trying to hatch! I subscribed to your blog because it seems so helpful for beginners like me!
I just saw that Brutus passed… I'm so sorry! I showed my husband the video of him crowing and he asked if that's what killed him. -I slapped him on the back of the head.
