As you can tell, it has been snowy and cold since the last Flock Focus Friday. The chickens and I have had enough! The weather-dude tells us that it’s going to warm up into the 40s this week, so you know what that means…let the flood gates open! <ugh> I’ve got a plan to make a floating bridge out of pallets, so at least the chickens have the opportunity to stay dry even if they don’t avail themselves of the life-raft. Please enjoy the photos from the week- the color theme is black and white-like it or not, that’s what Mother Nature was serving up!

If I had an incubator, I’d hatch some Ameraucana eggs. I so want some blue egg layers :)
I would hatch more Bredas and Barnevelders.
Lavender Orps are beautiful! Plus I’d love a Polish or two!!! Not to mention, after Easter, I’ve promised the preschool that I’d do another hatch! The owner/ director is pro at watching the temps and turning the eggs! Set 24 last time, got 23 chicks! The kids all got to take turns watching the chicks break out! That’s where “Love Bird” was born. All of the chicks come home with me after a couple of days. I’d hate to have to use my styrofoam incubator again… Want to set fewer eggs with a more accurate incubator!
I would hatch sicilain buttercups. I bought two girls and a rooster a month ago and love these guys
Islandtics! ????
