Hi Kathy, I just read your virtual coop tour from a few years back because I want to redesign my coop this spring. Thanks for some great ideas! I have been doing some online research, and haven’t seen this question addressed, though, and wonder if you can help: I am concerned that when I open the people door, there could be unwanted escapes. We do let our chickens free-range sometimes, but I want it to be at my choice, not theirs! How do you prevent chickens from crowding the door and running out when you open it? I have one batch hatching on Tuesday of this week and another on Friday! Could REALLY use the brooder! All that I am hatching are silkies!
