It was a difficult week here at Blazing Trails Farm with the unexpected passing of Brutus, my six month old Mille Fleur Serama cockerel. He had a special place in my heart I am thankful for the time I had to appreciate his beauty, confidence and spunk while he was here. He was a joy to photograph and I have chosen to celebrate his life by continuing to share his larger-than-life personality through them. RIP little buddy.
This is how Brutus would have wanted to be remembered. ☺ I know Brutus would have been thrilled to know that his necropsy report noted his “well developed testicles.” Atta boy, Brutus.

I guess we'll have to wait for the tissue samples to find out why a young, healthy bird had blood clots in his lungs.
sorry for your loss, he looked like he was quite a character. Its so sad you have to consider the possibility that a neighbor might have something to do with this. I would hope no one would stoop that low, but some people do. Hope its not the case.
I love love love this!!! thanks for posting this great montage of Brutus. He was such a character. I always enjoyed your posts of him. Your video comments are hilarious!
Your little roo will surely be missed. So many of us came to enjoy him as if he were part of our own flock. It is nice to know that the only "fowl play" was between Brutus and his feathered family.
Such a beautiful tribute to a very beautiful bird. Those pictures would make a seriously gorgeous calendar…sorry for the loss of your sweet guy.
