These brothers are Marans- mom is a Wheaten Marans & dad, Blaze, is a Black Copper  Marans
Brutus (Mille Fleur Serama) and Lyla (Icelandic) have an affinity for our Burning Bush shrubs on the property line.
My peeps are never far from my thoughts, even on vacation.
Rachel (Bantam Cochin Frizzle) looking very Cochin-ish in this photo. She usually looks more…Sea Urchin-shaped.
I have a coop full of broodies as the temperatures are at their highest this summer. This Buff Orpington did not appreciate the paparazzi.
For the first time ever, I set up a live-stream from the backyard to share my view with you. If you missed it live, you can still catch the live recording, here.
Blaze (Black Copper Marans rooster) is doing much better since his hospitalization. He is back in the flock,
his crow has returned in full force & he’s working on putting weight back on and opening his left eye all the way. ♥
Ariel (Black Copper Marans hen)
My little one, helping collect eggs. The green eggs are from my Olive Eggers & the brown is from my Black Copper Marans hen.
Irene (Welsummer)
My coop flower box is filling in nicely.
Penny is an Olive Egger.
Ally McBeak (Tolbunt Polish Frizzle)
Calista Flockheart (Tolbunt Polish Frizzle)

Oooh I'm so glad you posted about the feed sack potatoes! I really wanted to try this but wasn't sure it would work. Time to get a fall crop planted me thinks :)

Thanks for sponsoring great giveaways, Kathy. I would love to win this feeder. I have been enjoying your blog through my email for months now and also your Facebook site. I am so glad Blaze is better. I can't imagine why your neighbor's are so nasty since you have just about the prettiest collection of chicken coops and pretty flowers AND such an interesting and beautiful flock of chickens I have ever seen!
