This week has been rooster-centric for some reason. I’ve taken more than a few frame-worth shots of Blaze, Caesar and the P. Allen Smith roolets and wrote an article I have long intended to write on chicken mating. Rooster reproductive anatomy became a shocking subject of conversation at my sister’s house during Easter dinner (don’t ask) and I knew that if my family had such confusion over and questions about chicken sex, lots of others probably did too! Freida, my only Silkie, has been broody and sitting on these eggs since this photo was taken on June 9th- the eggs should hatch on or about Monday!

My ladies (and I'm sure my gentlemen) would love to have more of the Manna Pro! Our 18 little ladies and 1 gentleman have now grown to over 63 strong! My girls have been busy and obviously…. so has the gentleman! :)
