This week alternated between rainy and sunny, which has been great for the flowers and for the puddle drinkers in the flock. I have been busy offline chatting with two new sponsors that I’ll be introducing to you soon- I know you’re going to be excited about their products!

Broody Silkie hen.

Freida went broody this week, so I set her up in the maternity ward. I put the eggs in the makeshift nest box for her and she literally wasted no time thinking about it and walked right in immediately to keep them warm! Best broody mom ever.

Rachel, Bantam Cochin Frizzle hen

Blaze (Black Copper Marans) & Rachel, (Bantam Cochin Frizzle) the Royal Couple.

Calista Flockheart is a Tolbunt Polish Frizzle hen.

Calista Flockheart (Tolbunt Polish Frizzle) continues her snail-paced molt, but she is making progress, so hopefully she’ll be back to supermodel form before summer is over.

Dorking pair.

My P. Allen Smithlings are getting ginormous! These two are a Dorkings pair. Can you tell which one is the cockerel? Besides the fact that he’s sleeping in the middle of a crowd, if you read my article on sexing chickens this week, you’ll notice some obvious physical features that distinguish him from her.

Serama cockerel.

Does it LOOK like I've had my coffee? ...then WHY are you still talking?

I love the feel of this bedding. and the girls would love it. I have a hard time finding the right one. They sold me a substitute. Nice but no KOOP CLEAN. They were at the Boston Flower Show. Very nice people. Enjoyed talking to them :)

Thank you for the Koop Clean information. I’ve been looking
for an alternative for pine shavings and this might just be it. I’ll talk to my
local ranch supply store and see if they will carry it. Thanks!
