The flock hasn’t been the same since our fearless leader Blaze passed away. The preliminary necropsy report ruled out trauma as a cause of death, so we know for certain that none of the other roosters were to blame for his untimely departure. An enlarged spleen was the only abnormal finding in the post mortem exam, but the results from the tissue samples offered no definitive cause for the enlarged spleen.

Love the chicken coffee pictures, sorry to hear of Blaze’s departure. How do you keep so many roosters? I had two with 7 hens and they were constantly after the hens to the point of wearing off their feathers even though I had put saddles on them, and breaking their wing feathers by grabbing them wherever they could. I gave one away hoping the remaining rooster would calm down to no avail and have now removed him.
