As you can tell, it has been snowy and cold since the last Flock Focus Friday. The chickens and I have had enough! The weather-dude tells us that it’s going to warm up into the 40s this week, so you know what that means…let the flood gates open! <ugh> I’ve got a plan to make a floating bridge out of pallets, so at least the chickens have the opportunity to stay dry even if they don’t avail themselves of the life-raft. Please enjoy the photos from the week- the color theme is black and white-like it or not, that’s what Mother Nature was serving up!

After losing all of my hens to predation, I would start over with polish ( their “hats” remind me of my mother in law lol) and silver laced Wyandottes because they are beautiful! Of course they will be in a brand new predator proof coop! I miss my chickens :(
Since this would be my first time raising chickens, I would put some australorps in there and maybe a few javas. :)
I have a going-on 4-year-old Easter Egger who still gives us a big, green egg almost every day and an EE Rooster who we rescued from a larger backyard keeper’s freezer camp because he was so meek that he was getting beaten to a featherless pulp by the other roosters.
I’d really like to hatch out a few of their eggs.
I’d love to hatch a crested polish. Or a mini Rachel. .she’s so cute.
Lavender orphintons, wyndotts I’m a good ol egg layer gall!
