We welcomed a new member into our flock family just in time for my birthday this week: Milo, a 3 month old Yorkshire Terrier with an impressive pedigree, was escorted from South Carolina by his breeder to New York City, a short car ride from his forever home here in Connecticut! He walked into the house like he owned the joint and stole all of our hearts with his affectionate, playful personality. Please enjoy some of the photos taken since the last Flock Focus Friday!

I absolutely love your site. It’s a wonderful combination of important chicken care information , love of animals and the humor that they provide. We are appreciating your “cold weather” captions from the chickens as my chickens, 14 year old turkey and dogs, cats and horses enjoy a lovely 70′ in San Diego. Fingers crossed that we win the mealworms! Keep up the excellent blog.

My girls would llove to get these
Chubby worms…awesome!
Thank you for all the great info. My 7 hens and one roo are having their first winter, we’re located in Colorado at 8500′. It’s at least 30 degrees warmer then outside on the roost at night with only the chicken’s heat. Well insulated with the option of closing the roost off at night. The humidity stays low because of our climate. Getting 2 to 4 eggs now…..no lights.
My girls need some treats to get through this cold.
