It was a relatively quiet week here at Blazing Trails Farm. Say “amen.” The town, which is suing me to eliminate my chickens from my backyard is still on the ropes of public opinion and constituent pressure and for that, I thank you. If you are inclined to keep the heat on, I encourage you to reiterate why backyard chickens matter. If you would like to email or call the public officials of this wasteful litigation to let them know your thoughts, their contact information is:
Jim Taylor, Zoning Enforcement Officer, jtaylor@suffieldtownhall.com
Ed McAnaney, First Selectman,  firstselectman@suffieldtownhall.com

Autumn has arrived here in New England!
Lola (Columbian Wyandotte)
Flo (Black Copper Marans)
Bertha (Partridge Cochin)
I added some Friday to your coffee. You're welcome.
No pulse yet- more coffee.
I'm bringing sexy back.
Guess what day it is?
Friday coffee with my peeps.
Just waiting to see if my coffee chooses to use its powers for good or evil today.
Friday morning happy hour, coffee up!
I'm not coming out until Monday is gone.
5-6-7-8, Schlemeel, schlemazel, hasenfeffer incorporated...
Coffee ready yet?

Your hatching series is perfect information to have on hand. I love that it walked me through my first hatch and I didn't get near as many grey hairs from the experience as I could have :) It's so rewarding to hear the little babies softly peeping inside the shell after that first pip!

I hatched out eggs many years ago and would love to do it again now. I know my daughter would be fascinated as much as I was (and still am). Thank you for the chance.
