It was a difficult week here at Blazing Trails Farm with the unexpected passing of Brutus, my six month old Mille Fleur Serama cockerel. He had a special place in my heart I am thankful for the time I had to appreciate his beauty, confidence and spunk while he was here. He was a joy to photograph and I have chosen to celebrate his life by continuing to share his larger-than-life personality through them. RIP little buddy.
This is how Brutus would have wanted to be remembered. ☺ I know Brutus would have been thrilled to know that his necropsy report noted his “well developed testicles.” Atta boy, Brutus.

My girls with bumblefoot could use the Vetericyn now – but we're making do with all sorts of other stuff – until we win! :) Love your site – the bumblefoot information got me through the treatments. Thanks so much.
Beautiful boy! Sorry to hear of his passing. memamathree@gmail.com
The Vetericyn would be greatly appreciated. Last rooster I lost (years ago) was my Benedict (as in eggs benedict!); a beautiful speckled sussex cross–some of the same colors as your Brutus. So sad for you.
So very sorry about Brutus…he was a beautiful boy. Looking forward to seeing the fancy new hatch!
I just read about Brutus. I didn't realize that he was so young. Since our chickens are so vulnerable to respiratory infection is the hemorrhage in the lungs common? I'm a newbie to raising chickens and try to take every precaution. Sorry for your loss.
