It was a difficult week here at Blazing Trails Farm with the unexpected passing of Brutus, my six month old Mille Fleur Serama cockerel. He had a special place in my heart I am thankful for the time I had to appreciate his beauty, confidence and spunk while he was here. He was a joy to photograph and I have chosen to celebrate his life by continuing to share his larger-than-life personality through them. RIP little buddy.

This is how Brutus would have wanted to be remembered. ☺ I know Brutus would have been thrilled to know that his necropsy report noted his “well developed testicles.”  Atta boy, Brutus.

So what does this mean, the necropsy? It seemed inconclusive with more to come?

Didn't need science to tell me that young Brutus "had the goods." That was obvious from day 1. What was that phrase in the 50s? "Live Fast, Die Young and Leave a Beautiful Corpse" Brutus, you will live in my heart til I reach that great chicken coop in the sky, and beyond, if that is possible. Guess all that beauty and brains and courage and curiosity and wonderfulness was simply too much for a mere mortal body to contain. But you, young Roo, you definitely did it Your Way, All The Way. Thanks so, for brightening my days.
