The long holiday weekend started with rain, which was welcome as last week’s heat was beginning to take a toll on everyone, including Doc Brown’s “hair.” But the rest of the week was amazingly beautiful, which provided ample opportunity to enjoy, admire and photograph both my chickens and a variety of flowers in the yard. I bought some construction sand the other day .. I put 70 pounds of it in a corner of one of there yards.. so yesterday and this is odd for me.. the chickens was not sure what to do with it.. so I got down on my hands a knees and was trying to show them how to scratch the sand for a sand bath.. the little 8 week old rooster was interested in what I was doing.. guess what.. 1 meal worm was in it ..he snatched it up so fast.. the rest of the flock had no clue..… Read more »
