The long holiday weekend started with rain, which was welcome as last week’s heat was beginning to take a toll on everyone, including Doc Brown’s “hair.” But the rest of the week was amazingly beautiful, which provided ample opportunity to enjoy, admire and photograph both my chickens and a variety of flowers in the yard. I hope you enjoy these snapshots of the past week in my backyard!

Ah, yes…another way to spoil my girls!
Love Freida and her new chick!
My girls adore these worms! They expect them every dusk time to go into the coop for the night. Works like a charm. Our ducks expect them in their water bowl in there stall for the night. They are a riot how the slurp and gobble them up in seconds!
sounds good enough to eat .. :) for my chickies though… please enter me.. just started to let them out of there yards to explore for a few hours… they are so cool to watch & comical..they def love there bugs and frogs… it's a game of show and catch me if you can before I finish it off.. my chicks have not found the pond yet … but loads of frogs and tadpoles, and pretty sure lots of bugs.. Gosh do I love my chicks..
Love this site, I've learned a lot. Hope to win the mealworms for my chickens. I don't know what they are, but sounds like my chickens will love them. Thank you.
Love your witty informative posts!!! Wouldn't mind some mealworms for my flock
