This week has been rooster-centric for some reason. I’ve taken more than a few frame-worth shots of Blaze, Caesar and the P. Allen Smith roolets and wrote an article I have long intended to write on chicken mating. Rooster reproductive anatomy became a shocking subject of conversation at my sister’s house during Easter dinner (don’t ask) and I knew that if my family had such confusion over and questions about chicken sex, lots of others probably did too! Freida, my only Silkie, has been broody and sitting on these eggs since this photo was taken on June 9th- the eggs should hatch on or about Monday!

I would love to give my flock the Omega Egg Maker! I hope I win!! One of my girls is sitting on 7 eggs currently due to hatch in about a week and a half. So my flock will be expanding soon. Obviously, the chicks can't try the Omega Egg Maker just yet, but soon enough! Thanks so much for all the great information. I turn to your blog again and again for guidance!
