This week has been rooster-centric for some reason. I’ve taken more than a few frame-worth shots of Blaze, Caesar and the P. Allen Smith roolets and wrote an article I have long intended to write on chicken mating. Rooster reproductive anatomy became a shocking subject of conversation at my sister’s house during Easter dinner (don’t ask) and I knew that if my family had such confusion over and questions about chicken sex, lots of others probably did too! If you missed that article, feel free to catch up with it here! Beyond that, the weather has been perfect for anything outdoors and I hope you enjoy some of the photos I shot while taking advantage of it!

I will be amused AFTER my coffee.
Of course it's Monday, this ain't my Friday face.
I've begun drinking coffee on Sunday nights in anticipation of Monday mornings.
Coffee ready yet?

Oh my gosh I love the backyard chicken poster! That would be so cute in my 1950's themed chicken coop! Can't wait to see pictures of the new chicks!

Very interesting article on chicken mating. Both my grandparents had farms that included large flocks of chickens but I had no idea what actually occurred! Thanks for the facts!
