This week alternated between rainy and sunny, which has been great for the flowers and for the puddle drinkers in the flock. I have been busy offline chatting with two new sponsors that I’ll be introducing to you soon- I know you’re going to be excited about their products!
Freida went broody this week, so I set her up in the maternity ward. I put the eggs in the makeshift nest box for her and she literally wasted no time thinking about it and walked right in immediately to keep them warm! Best broody mom ever.
Blaze (Black Copper Marans) & Rachel, (Bantam Cochin Frizzle) the Royal Couple.
Calista Flockheart (Tolbunt Polish Frizzle) continues her snail-paced molt, but she is making progress, so hopefully she’ll be back to supermodel form before summer is over.
My P. Allen Smithlings are getting ginormous! These two are a Dorkings pair. Can you tell which one is the cockerel? Besides the fact that he’s sleeping in the middle of a crowd, if you read my article on sexing chickens this week, you’ll notice some obvious physical features that distinguish him from her.

Sounds like a very useful product. My week-old chicks are using pine shavings for right now, and it's incredible how fast their bedding goes from nice and fresh to "eww you guys are disgusting!"
I sure hope it makes to our area soon.. Sounds like great stuff.
I'd love to try this new bedding!
I really want to try Koop Clean, I thought my local farm suppliers had it & drove all the way there & they don't carry it.
It will not be carried in the big chain stores, Jenn. If you want to see it locally, contact Lucerne Farms with the independent store(s) near you.
