This week alternated between rainy and sunny, which has been great for the flowers and for the puddle drinkers in the flock. I have been busy offline chatting with two new sponsors that I’ll be introducing to you soon- I know you’re going to be excited about their products!
Freida went broody this week, so I set her up in the maternity ward. I put the eggs in the makeshift nest box for her and she literally wasted no time thinking about it and walked right in immediately to keep them warm! Best broody mom ever.
Blaze (Black Copper Marans) & Rachel, (Bantam Cochin Frizzle) the Royal Couple.
Calista Flockheart (Tolbunt Polish Frizzle) continues her snail-paced molt, but she is making progress, so hopefully she’ll be back to supermodel form before summer is over.
My P. Allen Smithlings are getting ginormous! These two are a Dorkings pair. Can you tell which one is the cockerel? Besides the fact that he’s sleeping in the middle of a crowd, if you read my article on sexing chickens this week, you’ll notice some obvious physical features that distinguish him from her.

Just grabbed my very first bag of Coop Klean today in Benedict's in Monroe, CT. Best supply store and garden center in my area. They never let me down.
Super happy to have found your blog today! We are brand new chick parents. We have a flock of 8 all around 7 weeks old and can use as much help as possible.
More beautiful pictures!

I'd love some of this clean coop. It's not anywhere around here :-( an it's costly to ship.

Brought a mixed batch of bantam pullets in February and so far no ones crowed. I can't have roosters so my fingers are crossed! With your dorkings side by side it's easy to tell. Building nest boxes next week and I would love to try this new bedding.
