This week alternated between rainy and sunny, which has been great for the flowers and for the puddle drinkers in the flock. I have been busy offline chatting with two new sponsors that I’ll be introducing to you soon- I know you’re going to be excited about their products!
Freida went broody this week, so I set her up in the maternity ward. I put the eggs in the makeshift nest box for her and she literally wasted no time thinking about it and walked right in immediately to keep them warm! Best broody mom ever.
Blaze (Black Copper Marans) & Rachel, (Bantam Cochin Frizzle) the Royal Couple.
Calista Flockheart (Tolbunt Polish Frizzle) continues her snail-paced molt, but she is making progress, so hopefully she’ll be back to supermodel form before summer is over.
My P. Allen Smithlings are getting ginormous! These two are a Dorkings pair. Can you tell which one is the cockerel? Besides the fact that he’s sleeping in the middle of a crowd, if you read my article on sexing chickens this week, you’ll notice some obvious physical features that distinguish him from her.

I love your babies, Kathy :) Freida is adorable! We just hatched 2 very sweet silkies the other day – one who is silver (named Misty) and the other who is yellow but may very well turn calico, we're not sure yet – and her name is Butter <3 I would love to try out the Koop Clean – see how it works in the brooders for the older chicks, and if that works out well enough, get it in larger quantities to put in the nesting boxes and the bigger coops! *fingers crossed*
Would love to have the Koop clean.
Still waiting for Koop clean in wisconsin. Love the blog!
