The circle of life played out in the backyard this week and while we welcomed new flock members, we said goodbye to Spartacus who crossed the rainbow bridge. RIP pretty boy.

Just found this blog about 2 days after getting my first shipment of chicks in! I have never mail ordered chicks before but we're on the 9th day since the peepers have arrived and doing pretty well so far. I've had chickens over the years but they were either feed store pick ups or inherited from a neighbor, so I'm pretty excited to start out with my first batch of "picked" breed chicks!
