I was introduced to your site through a friend. I am excited to say I am starting the chicken ownership journey this weekend! My coop is ready and I get the "girls" tomorrow. So excited and your blog is so informative. I am going to be a good chicken mamma :)

in addition, a couple weeks ago I rescued 11 silkie mixed adult birds, (2 roo's) and unfortunately though they knew they had to get rid of all their birds they continued to let multiple hens set on eggs, in the two weeks it took for me to fix a horse stall to accomodate the 11 safely, I took home an additional 13 chicklets. security had to get tighter, they are very tiny. I am praying there aren't as many roosters in the mix as there seems to be but I know nothing silkie! now, I have had a chance to… Read more »
