The flock hasn’t been the same since our fearless leader Blaze passed away. The preliminary necropsy report ruled out trauma as a cause of death, so we know for certain that none of the other roosters were to blame for his untimely departure. An enlarged spleen was the only abnormal finding in the post mortem exam, but the results from the tissue samples offered no definitive cause for the enlarged spleen.

I’m sorry for the loss of Blaze also :( And Laura, the previous comment, I am also having trouble with our one rooster. Our hens are losing feathers because of our rooster. One hen has a saddle on because she was the worst one, but now some of the others are also losing feathers. What to do??!
While I was out-of-town one of my 3 beloved hens was killed. Not eaten, but there was a fight and she lost a lot of feathers. We have no idea what it was, but I know how you feel. Some people say she was just a chicken, but she was my pet and I miss her among our little flock. I am sorry for your loss.
That is a really neat feeder! Can’t wait to see the chickens use it!
Would love the feeder.
I could definitely use one of those feeders. We have more rodents than the hawks, owls, and barn cats can handle!
