The flock hasn’t been the same since our fearless leader Blaze passed away. The preliminary necropsy report ruled out trauma as a cause of death, so we know for certain that none of the other roosters were to blame for his untimely departure. An enlarged spleen was the only abnormal finding in the post mortem exam, but the results from the tissue samples offered no definitive cause for the enlarged spleen.

Oh, man! I didn’t see that news. He was a magnificent bird. I’m sorry.
Your blog is great, I enjoy getting your emails. I would love one of these feeders!
Would love to have less wasted feed! Our 2 year old orpingtons waste a lot of feed, although we have it hanging. Want to try something different with our 25 – 4 week old leghorns, and our 8 – 2 week old arauconas. Thanks for a chance at winning this!
We are getting our very first batch of chick’s on friday! Can’t wait to start our adventure!
Sorry for the loss of your rooster. I could sure use the feeder though. Our flock keeps getting bigger even though we said we would just have a few. Wonder how that keeps happening. ;-)
