The flock hasn’t been the same since our fearless leader Blaze passed away. The preliminary necropsy report ruled out trauma as a cause of death, so we know for certain that none of the other roosters were to blame for his untimely departure. An enlarged spleen was the only abnormal finding in the post mortem exam, but the results from the tissue samples offered no definitive cause for the enlarged spleen.

I am truly sorry about Blaze. I miss my chicks terribly when they pass.
You’re photographs with captions always make me laugh, as I’m having my own cup of coffee :)
All chickens go to heaven, as we all know…….
Going to a poultry swap today – may I not come home with any more birds! Well, I might!
Better win something soon to help with the flock – 34 birds but only 2 of them are chickens – the rest are pigeons, doves, cockatiels, budgies, finches, lovebirds!!!
He was so handsome. Sorry to hear of his passing. I’m just starting my first flock. We have 10 girls. I plan on having a grandpa feeder for them when they get older. Winning one would be the icing on the cake.
LOVE reading about grandpas feeders! Would really love to try one!
