Last year my six pullets survived because I recognized coccidiosis from your blog. This year Shaniqua, Spazz, Dimitri, Timone, Paco and Vladimir are loading us up with wonderful delicious eggs, so they and I thank you!
You CAN trim them if you like. I don't need to trim my hen's feathers though.
