Here in Northern Connecticut, we have had an unusually snow-free winter, for which my flock and I are tremendously grateful. This looks much safer than a heat lamp for chicks, and it could do double duty with seed starting..
I would love to have this-My husband and son use our unfinished basement as the poultry nursery and put the chicks in totes on the concrete floor and use 2 heat lamps.
This would be a much better alternative! (Now if I can just convience them to put something between the tote and the concreate floor). We also sometimes use hand warmers and/or toe warmers to provide additional warmth.
Well this would sure work better than trying to put socks on these hens! LOL!
The ladies would love it.
I love how diverse your flock is!
