Christmas week here at Blazing Trails Farm was a challenge with on again, off again snow alternating with rain and sunshine. We are expecting eggs to hatch this coming week and are looking forward to sharing that experience with you as it happens, live!
The Olive Egger in the nest box on the right has been broody for nearly two weeks. When the eggs in the incubator hatch, I’ll slip them underneath her to raise.
Christmas morning breakfast consisted of steel cut and regular oatmeal with blueberries, apples and bananas. I put out several loaf pans so that there was no bickering and nobody left out.

Would love to win!! Thank you
Bwhahahahahaha! You're memes crack me up! Probably because I can redundantly relate to the coffee addiction… Happy New Year!
we are REALLY new at this,,,,,presently have 2 hens and a rooster…….we give our birds a treat almost every day and they seem to appreciate it!!!
Kathy, Lilly Chicken my 11 month old Easter Egger has made every afternoon a daily event to hop up on the recliner with my hubby and take a 30 minute siesta. It is a funny thing to watch. This is also a man who was not sure about getting chickens 4 years ago!! Thanks again for all your info and opportunities and daily laughs.
Hey, I just bought some of those today for my chickens! They've been all cooped up in this cold (-6F) weather and I try to break up their day by de-icing their waterers and bringing them a snack every couple of hours. They will be so excited!! Especially if we win! :-)
